pass-up question

Post by Wimp Lo » Sat Apr 10, 2004 11:55 pm

I noticed acstats shows 10 days info for me but a quota of only 51 million. Shouldn't it show a quota of 143 million, roughly?

Likewise, ian mac shows 12 days info and quota only of 86 million or so for that time period. Shouldn't his show as 171 million? In his case it also shows him passing at the quota it is showing, however if the quota were set at 100 million a week his numbers would show him failing.

Can someone explain this to me?

Wimp Lo 146 2004-04-10 Passed 266.4% 10 days 109 254 553,709,284 303,147,699 51,147,007 252,000,692 118,214,988
Ian Mac 189 2004-04-07 Passed 86.9% 12 days 243 284 301,439,502 108,850,550 85,921,984 22,928,566 141,511,132

These are the numbers from the stats page.

Thanks,

Wimp Lo

Wimp, I noticed the same type of things a couple of days ago with the stats page. The only two possible explanations I have are 1) key vassals are still in a state of disarray in different parts of the chain, or 2) something isn't right in the code that calculates the quota numbers.

The key vassal may be a more likely answer than it sounds like at first, simply because of the way the database uses them. The database starts with the lowest bottom character in the chain, then goes to that character's patron, then THAT character's patron, etc., until it reaches the top character in the chain. Then, the database starts back down the chain, searching for and jumping to the key vassal that is set until it hopefully reaches the original bottom character again. It traverses the patron/vassal tree that way as an attempt to make sure that all key vassals are set correctly. When it reaches a spot where the key vassal is wrong, the database suddenly gets confused about who is sworn to whom and it gets kind of screwy, kind of like a creature that is stuck between two attackers and just runs back and forth between them until it's dead. :)

If the code itself is wrong, that will be a Panzerfaust thing to fix it. I'll get with him tomorrow and ask him to look at the programming too.

To me it looks like the Quota section is still based off of what your vassal passes up to you, not a set number like is should be seeing that the chains are now 6, 20, 100 mill not a percent of passup reviced.

I think you're right Kerosene. The quota for everyone should be 100 million per week, or about 14.3 million per day, but some of the numbers don't match that.

Yes - wanted to mention the same. In the 20 mil there are people with a quota of 355K (K !!!) for a 13-day-period. I have a quota of 11 mil for 14 days which does not fit either.

Well - the display of the quota column is one thing - and one I do not really care about. Because I ignore the 10% passthrough and know I have to make 20 mil. per week.

But what interests me is whether the Credit column is calculating with the correct formula or still with the old vassal-dependent one.

What is probably happening is there are two sets of numbers in your calculations from the old to the new. So, this is probably skeing the numbers. Once the chains are back together and all key vassals are set and uploaded, the numbers should correct themselves.
