ATTN: FC & OH Members. Public Service Announcement.

Post by Oof » Thu Jan 01, 2004 10:19 pm

The following is a very brief recap of chain policies. This is NOT a replacement for reading the chain policies, you are still required to have read those at viewtopic.php?t=8

The brief recap is given here as a convenience to you, and as a reminder of what it required of all chain members.

Also, the new management team now has the strength in numbers to adequately and consistently enforce chain policy, therefore, our goal as your chain management is to consistently and promptly enforce chain policy.

This may be the only notice you get about policy enforcement until you see removal orders with your name in the title. So, please, start watching your upload frequency, quota compliance, etc., and also watch out for your chain neighbors well being too. Let them know if there are posts with their name in the Subject line, and let them know when they are nearing the point where they may have removal orders posted. The next time, it may be them looking out for you...

--------------------------------------------------
SHORTENED VERSION OF CHAIN POLICIES [Test in [ ] is a further explanation by Oof, written for this post, and is not contained in the policy yet.]
--------------------------------------------------

Basic Requirements
Leadership trained OR have at least 11 DIRECT vassals.
Loyalty must ALWAYS buff to least 200.

Quotas
FC: 100% or 93.75% + 6 million per week, whichever is less.
OH: 100% or 93.75% + 12 million per week, whichever is less.
CC: 93.75%

Reporting
AC stats is mandatory. Updating is automatic and doesn't require any additional work from you. All you need to do is run Decal with ACStats loaded, log into AC, and your data is set. [THAT MEANS RUN ACSTATS ALL THE TIME. Some people have trouble running AC Stats, if so, you need to update at twice per week.]

AcStats is our only way of tracking Quota automatically. Therefore, it is mandatory that every chain member update the database frequently.

After a member has not uploaded in a week, "Upload" will show by their name, instead of "Passed" or "Failed". If this happens, that member should contact a manager ASAP to receive help in resolving this issue.

After a member has not uploaded in two weeks, "Old Data" will show. If no contact is made by this member, he/she will be removed from the chain.

Recruitment
The Order of Hyssop is currently recruiting LD members levels 126+.
The Food Chain is currently recruiting between the levels of 50 and 126.
Individuals interested in joining a chain under level 50 are encouraged to join our Casual Chain.

Food Chain Board
Use of the Food Chain Board is mandatory. Failure to check the board may result in temporary removal from the chain, and could occur when the management is inserting or removing others around you.

Insertion
The insertion of new applicants and re-insertion of former chain members will be happening almost all the time. There is no "special insertion day" Therefore, it is that much more important for all members to read the boards. It is the responsibility of all chain members to swiftly insert new members.

Quota Failure Policy
After 21 days of quota entries
If a member falls behind 3.5 million passed up XP, which is the equivalent of not passing up a single experience point for 4 days, one of the following actions will be taken:

1st time:
The member will keep their chain patron and will lose their chain vassal. The member must make the equivalent of old quota for 10 days. If this is accomplished, the member will be placed back in the chain. The member will most likely not be placed with the same patron and vassal due to level conflicts.

2nd time:
Same as 1st time, but member must maintain quota for 20 days.

3rd time:
Removal from chain with option to go to Casual Chain. The member may reapply to Food Chain after three months of being in Casual Chain.

Reinsertion of Removed OH Members
OH members who have been removed from the chain may be reinserted into the chain if they desire. First time removals will be reinserted at the bottom of the OH. Members who have been removed repeatedly are welcome to apply to be placed in the Food Chain, but will not be placed in the OH again until they have completed a 21 day trial period in which they have shown the ability to meet the OH quota.

Removals will not happen on a specific schedule. The Food Chain Management Team will post removals as needed. It is up to the individual member to track his/her own quota.

Failure To Read The Boards
Communication is key for the chain to move smoothly. Each member must read the Food Chain board frequently to remain informed. Chain Managers will post chain placements, movements, and removals there.

If the members involved in any chain movement do not respond within four days from the date of the original post, a member may be sworn around to complete a chain insertion, move, or removal. Please note that such a removal is not permanent-- the member can be re-inserted once their participation level comes back up.

The Food Chain Management team can remove a member who is falling below our minimum requirements without warning. Do not let this happen to you.

We need to update acstats twice a week. Even if we're ahead of quota?

I tend to play on the weekends only now that I work. As long as I don't let it fall to 'Upload' and I'm not behind, am I ok? Or do you need peopel to log in every 3.5 days.

I mean technically, if I update twice on sunday, I've updated twice that week, right? =)

How about once on saturday and once on sunday? =)

The idea Lag is to get data points for the database over a period of time.

This will also work in the members benefit in the time there is a problem or dispute with pass up and the likes. More uploads allows for more precise numbers in the database and makes life a lot easier for the chain managers.

If its not to much trouble it would be good to hit it on your weekend play and on mid week. Say Wednesday or so. Just a quick log in and out, I promise I wont scare you with stalking @tells.

Lag, if you can upload twice a week, that would be great. If you only hunt on the weekends, and only log out once during the weeked (because multiple logging outs = multiple uploads), that's okay too. The idea behind multiple uploads per week is to avoid those nasty quota surprises that can sometimes happen.

If some always maintains a quota buffer, they can get by with a once a week upload. However, if one of the quota oops happens, and one of the managers sees a Failed status, removal orders will be posted and enforced.

That's why the post was titled as a public service announcemnet. ;)

Thats good. Sometimes I just really don't have it in me to play during the week.

This week was pretty light though. I was on thursday a bit.

I have been trying to keep an entire week saved up, but I notice you don't get full credit until your patron also logs on to verify the upload. Or there's some kind of time window or something.

You may want to be careful. There could be somebody who has legitimately made quota, but the delay (the xp cache turbine was talking about?) makes them appear to fail as far as acstats is concerned.

Like, I made quota on thursday, and it said I was over by like 16k. I thought it was odd, but I was ahead so I didn't bother to complain. But then today, as I logged in, I checked it, and I was ahead properly by about 20M.

My only point in all this is that while tightening up the rules is good, make sure you're you're predicating those rules on a system whose intracacies we know!

Updated the url in Oof's post to point to the ldstats directory instead of stats.
