Question for TradeBot experts : "Gift Bot"

I had the idea to set up a TradeBot inside the mansion that offers free stuff, acting as an automated mule-cleanout-giveaway, intended primarily for lower levels to get decent stuff for free across the timezones.

Even after a (theoretically ) finished mule-cleanout this would be a good way to offer the items that I find day by day on Nobles/Evis,.. but that are too low for myself or trading/auctioning and to good to be sold in shop. These items would fill up the mules again until the next cleanout anyway.

I checked TradeBot 4.0 a bit, but did not find a way to "trade for free", like assigning a price of 0 points to items.

My next thought was to assign each item a value of 1 point and define 1 Pyreal coin to be one point. But I did not manage to include coins in the point system.

Did I miss something ? Or is that impossible in TradeBot ?
How about AutoTrade ? Did someone of you already deal with it (the possibility to check bot inventory with web-browser sounds tempting) ?

Well, regardless of the actual mechanics of the system, I think it would be a great idea.

Do you think it would be possible for people to add items to the inventory for others to get? I pick up good stuff all the time, and I usually just end up selling them unless I know there is someone who could use it. Its not like the money is an issue, and its for a good cause also.

Unfortinately tradebot doesn't work that way..

maybe there is a master coder hanging around here somewhere that can make something

dood just set it to accept something totally worthless from the list that newbs could come across fairly easily. It will make them work a bit for reward.
I would hate to see a bunch of newbs just collect it all in one scoop.

I believe TradeBot v4 (current version) will allow you to set a point value on prismatic tapers, so you can set a value of 1 for a taper. Then, if everything in your inventory is valued at 1, each item can be had for the cost of one prismatic taper. I would think that's a bargain price by most people's measure. :D

Re: your web-based interface, check out the following links. I'm thinking about downloading this and playing around with it because it looks pretty cool.

The AC Trade site, a tradebot with inventory viewable via the Web

An example view of some bot's inventory and pricing system

I hope this is helpful.

Hi

Great idea - but for free - wont someone just collect all - run to the nerest town and sell it all :?:

Why not set it to some low value - and use the income for maintaince to the mansion :?:

Just my idea :D

I would hope the LDers would have more honor than that.

Most of the LDers would, but there may be the occassional one... TradeBot keeps a log of who gets what, and what they give you for your stuff, so if someone did that Panzer could always strap on the size 18 DDD Monarchy Boot and apply it generously on their behind.

I second SteelHead, I was asked if I had any Amuli and I never met the person before and he never even said Hi

There is the slip in honor from time to time and I think that has to do with Paytrons not getting to know their vassels well enough before letting them sign, I turned of "accept Alligaince request" because I had people ID me and try to sign to me without even asking me first.
