Virindi
The rains came once again
during the darkest hour
as the trio laid in wait
for another to devour.
Listen very closely
for there is no silence;
hear the humming
that preceeds the violence.
They glide silently
across the terrain,
masked and cloaked
inflicting their pain.
A volley of frost,
then a bolt of flame;
casting spell after spell
they have no shame.
"Try to resist",
this taunt you'll hear
over and over
bringing about fear.
Then out of darkness
steps a soul so brave
and one by one,
sends each to its grave.
As the rains cease
skies clear in the dawn
a brave soul lays in wait
for another Virindi spawn.
A real oldie...I wrote this after my 1st encounter with Virindi out on the flatlands in Teth. They scared me so badly. Never dreamed the Virindi would still be going strong and getting bigger and meaner after all this time.
