Hi, I haven't tried Decal or any of the plug-ins at all.

What plugins would you recommend to a Newb to try? I have no idea what any of them do. I've been playing since October, and do get buffed by the bots when they are available.

Thanks!

what is your toon (mage/melee) weapon? Then go to the home page and the 'Decal' button ... there is a link to a site that gives a brief discreption of the different plug ins.

I'm a lvl 64 sword.

I did look there last week and was more confused than when I started lol.

So many of the plug-ins seem to do similar things.

I'm thinking the map/coords one might be helpful-cuz I never know where the heck I'm going!

This is my preference for a melee:

DECAL
TANK (will do buffs and give a general idea on type of damage to use on mobs -- can be configured -- )(will also do many tracking options)
Death Item Predictor: I like to use this when trying out new armor or weapons (not sure if this is still available.. if not send me your email in a PM and I will email it to you.)
BANDIT SITE (BS2): Great plug in for most any 'Identifing' you will need to do.

Those are the main ones.... experiment and enjoy!

I like to use the following:

Housekeeper - 1 button click house/mansion/lifestone/marketplace recall
(saves a lot of typing)

Saphire - Buffing plug-in 'Nuff said :)

XP - O - Meter - tracks XP earned, Xp per skill, Xp per sec/min/hour

I use others, but those are ones I consider "indispensable."

Good luck finding what you want. :D

I like:

Nerfus Buffus II
Bandit Sight
Robochef
ACNav
Dircal

and I still have Oracle of Dereth even though it's not current. I'd also like to find one that tracks XP since I dumped Eltank.

Sassy:

TryXP - O -Meter. Very simple yet fully functional. I don't think you can find a current version yet, so PM me if you want, and I will e-mail you the file.

:D

I can't get anything to run.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. :(

I downloaded decal, the 2 files it said I needed-spell filter and imp filter. I then downloaded Banditsight, tank and some ust thing.

I tried to install them, but would end up with 1926 as an error. It says something about making sure I have permissions to modify the securities or somethign like that. I don't know, I didn't write it down.

Guess I'll just go with the thought that I must not be missing anything since I've never tried it to be able to miss it! lol

What operating system are you using? You may not have permissions to install applications.

XP

My husband checked my computer and said that since I'm set up at admin on my PC, I should be able to install whatever I want.

He's going to redo my computer this weekend, so I may try when he's done.

Error 1926 means "The specified profile element could not be added."

Depending on the exact time when this error occurs (= at which stage of the installation) it might be that

- a SpamBlocker like Ad-Watch is blocking Write access to the Registry.

- the System Registry Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is corrupt or its security settings had been altered

- your Registry Hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER is corrupt or its security settings had been altered

- NTFS File Security has been altered on your Profile Path "C:\Documents and Settings\........."

Of course it also can be a totally different problem

Interesting :) veeerrrryyyyy interesting...

I'll show that to my husband when he gets home and ask him to check it out.

Good thing I'm married to a tech! I'm one of the reasons there are 24 hr tech support lines!

Try giving full control to the administrators group of c:\

Error 1926 can be a security issue

you can run cacls c:\ and see something like:

Code: Select all

SERVER\username:F
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:F
BUILTIN\Administrators:F
SERVER\username:(OI)(CI)(IO)F
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:(OI)(CI)(IO)F
BUILTIN\Administrators:(OI)(CI)(IO)F

Administrators should be in the with F
