Anyone use the Auto-Salvage plugin?
If you're using it or have used it, I'd like to hear your feedback. The automatic concern is that it will salvage something it shouldn't (like a fully tinked Steel weapon, doh!), but it seems to have loads of safeguards built in. For example, it won't salvage something that has been tinked, or that has an inscription, or that has a minor/major on it, etc.
Seems like a good way to take the drudgery out of salvaging, IF it is reliable.
Here is the link to the home page for the plugin:

I'm using it, and like it *alot*.
It has not salvaged anything I don't want it to, yet - but then again, I'm paranoid. I'm using it on a salvage mule, that has no items of value.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, running it only on a salvage mule. I'd hate to be the first to discover some kind of "Oops, sorry, I seem to have salvaged everything you were wearing" glitch on my main.

Okay, I've tried this now, and I've gotta say.... Wow!
I really hated the drudgery of salvaging a ton of loot all at once, but I'm a diligent salvager and so I did it. With this plugin, I set up all the rules very quickly that I normally apply manually, then said "go", and it was done in a few seconds.
Just a PSA: Between ELTank's auto-loot feature and this plugin, salvaging is waaaaay less of a burden.

Question for you. I seem to remember hearing from some time ago that you got more salvaged material if you only ust'ed one item at a time. Of course, I also remembered hearing when salvaging first came out that certain items would yield more or less material, which I know is not the case now (and may not have ever been).
Is there a benefit to salvaging items one at a time in the use, or can I throw half a pack of something in there and let it go at it?
Thanks for answering a noob's question.

I don't have a definitive answer, but here is what I do know:
I have heard this as well. When I first heard it, I was inclined to believe it, figuring that perhaps a skill check applied that might give me 7.5 units of something, and the game rounded up to 8.0. But multiple items at once it could add up before rounding, thus leading to the rounding issue some folks are sure exists.
It may well be the case on lower tinkering skills, but I have not done the empirical testing required to prove or refute it. It would be hard to get any direct evidence unless one did a LOT of sampling, due to the random nature inherent in skill checks.
If you have a high enough tinkering skill (and for salvaging, it picks your highest overall tinkering skill, not specific to the item you're salvaging), of course, you salvage 100% of the item, equal to the workmanship, and there is no rounding involved.
Maybe I'll post a question on the dev forums and see if I can get a Turbine dev to settle the mystery.

Looks like it's true. Here's the reply from Ibn@Turbine to my question:

Here's a link to the actual thread:Not a rumor... srand thinks she verified this on the Vault but either way it's true.
It may not be true forever, but it's true right now.

And here is the Auto-Salvage author's reply on how his plugin works (short version = it salvages one item at a time):

Auto-Salvage is now named UST, current version 1.0.9.
Very useful, very stable, BUT :
When my salvage mule has many bags to combine (almost complete mainpack), the plugin stops processing. I have to stop and restart the Combine process, sometimes I even have to relog the toon....
Found a thread in its support forum about the various timings of UST.
I will play around with the mentioned numbers to see if that solves my problem (http://archui-host.no-ip.com:8888/forum ... c.php?t=93)
