This line occurs on various error conditions, for instance a crippled XML file.

Nevertheless the line before this one actually differs and therefore seems to be more important to me.

-1072896682 (= C00CE556) I have found at other occasions indicating problems with MSXML3.DLL

-1072896680 (= C00CE558), the one only a few of my users using the very same XML get, appears in conjunction with OLE errors.

Does this info help anything ?

Hmm - now that you ask me......

As for your MJ problem - the error number clearly indicates a problem with the interpretation of your XML file. If the file itself is ok, the only part doing the error can be the XML parser(s).

You already did update both 3.0 and 4.0 ?

Did you check that your XML file ends with a CR-LF and not directly after the last closing ">" ?

Did you copy this output from the IE window after doubleclicking the XML ?

If not you are in trouble. But anyway please check the XML in Notepad.
NO leading minus sign is allowed in the file : "- <" is wrong and should be " <" because the "-" is a metacharacter displayed by IE to distinguish the expanded record from a collapsed one ("+").

And just to be sure about the CR-LF at the end please insert one or two empty lines at the end of the files by simply pressing ENTER....

Ok Trek going to double check the (-) signs when I get to the house this evening.

I hope for my sake and that of others around me that this will solve the problem. Otherwise I might go postal and start launching dead chickens at people surrounding me.

Heck, I may even upgrade to live chickens.

That is a good idea, I like dead chicken. Currently I have grilled chicken for dinner
