MJ connection problem

I am having a hard time connecting to IRC thru MJ.I cab see all the names of people in channel just cant send a message because I am not getting connected.Can someone help me on this one plz?

As we already discussed ingame - open port TCP 9000 in your Firewall software.

Did you activate the built-in Windows Firewall in addition to Norton ?
