Mansion - Declining Population

Hi all (or read Keebler).

was thinking if everyone thinks we still need a mansion or should we drop down to a villa? I know we would lose our portal devices (unless you wanted to run to the mansion from nearest drop) but it would be a lot cheaper on writs? Just wondering... I also have no idea how much stuff in in the mansion chests.

There is quite a bit of stuff in the chests, but I have to go through it. There are only a cpl of us left that even play. Panz no longer plays so basically to move to a villa would mean breaking from panzer. I am not nearly as active as I use to be, I still get on nightly but mostly Riyadh is a bot now.

it was just a thought... if you decide to do it and need some help with storing stuff let me know... I guess if no one is around to pay the villa rent we would lose that as well... well let me know if I can help.. or what you want to do.

Honestly, I am not sure how much longer I will be playing. The game has kind of lost its appeal to me, and playing everyday for the last 8 years or so has kind of worn me down. I still play, but just not nearly as active. I plan on keeping up with the mansion maint and keeping a bot up until I do quit. Before I quit, one of the things I will be doing is finding a new owner for my villa, the solo one on its own island. It has been passed down to me from Sassy, and to her from Naka. I would like to keep it with a LD member, but if no one is left, then I will have to find someone that deserves it and won't just sell it for mmds.

well if you decide to go.. give me access to the mansion chests and I will try to keep the maintence up... unless you want to go thru them to see if it is worth it.

I will go through them this weekend, see what is in there. I am not sure I am able to give you access since Panzer owns the mansion, but I will look it up to see If I have that ability.

OMG you guys, this is a depressing thread... if it comes down to it, let me swear a toon back into LD so I can maintain the mansion, writs are easy to come by, and I don't plan to quit anytime soon, and maybe some patch in the future will bring someone back, and there the mansion will be... if anything changed, I'd post it here.

I haven't had a toon in LD for years, but it would be a small price to pay to me to put a toon back in it in order to keep it alive in some form on SC for as long as possible. Call me a softy. Call me a sucker for nostalgia. I've been called worse.

I had so much fun belonging to a neighborhood of house-owners BITD that @mansion became just another place to recall too. After the towns died, the only reason for getting that close to Heb' was the buffbots for re-rolls or meeting for a LD quest.

I wouldn't sweat downsizing on housing unless it could impact new members or re-rolls. Should be many open Villas or Cottages otherwise. More than enough to re-locate. Sad losses would be various PP gear and the odd quest-item. I'm sure Kalazar and the KOH would be willing (and trustworthy) to help with moving such items...if they're still reachable.

I can get everything from the chests, but we would lose all the hooked items since Panzer doesn't play and he is the only one who can unhook all items. A bunch of memories in that mansion. In reality, there are only 5 or so actives in the clan, myself, tc, a returning player(many chars), Urrasa, and Wiggy.

So Keeb... have you un-subbed? Is someone looking out for the rent? Did you give them the remaining writs/writ items?

I haven't unsubbed yet. This should be my last month. I plan on giving the writs to Urrasa to take care of the maint, I paid it this month already. It will be about 100 writs. I will give her some mmds as well to help out. There won't be a buffbot anymore and there are 2 or 3 ppl that use it daily. Wiggy and another person with multiple characters. If you could set up a buff bot at the top where Riyadh is that would be great.

I have already unsubbed, just waiting for my period to end. Gave away my villa and have pretty much done all I need to do in game. I may one day resub, but don't intend to. It has been a great run, but with all my friends that have quit, I am 1 of just a few that play regularly.
